The Latest Android Features That Will Reduce Unused Application Size

The Latest Android Features That Will Reduce Unused Application Size – The team at the Android Open Source Project are working on a feature called “hibernation”. This feature will reduce the footprint of program memory that is not used by Android smartphone users.

This hibernation feature is still in its early stages of improvement. Opportunity, will be included in Android 12. No official release date, but the Developer Preview of Android 11 is out in February 2020.

Quoted from GSMArena, Tuesday (19/1), hibernation is when a user of a multi-user device chooses to hibernate a program, the program cache associated with that user will be deleted and free up a little space. It has been applied.

From the name of the feature, it doesn't seem like the program is uninstalled permanently, but there might be a way to compress it to save space (together with regular cache cleaning). Note that this hibernation feature appears to be completely unrelated (except the name) to the hibernation function offered by some Xposed programs and modules, which pauses program execution similar to Android's default rest state.
