President Prabowo Subianto has officially removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). He will be succeeded by the former deputy, Nanik S. Deyang, as the administration moves to restructure the agency.
The announcement was delivered by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening (June 2). According to Prasetyo, the decision to replace Dadan was made following a comprehensive 1.5-year monitoring and evaluation period of the agency’s performance under President Prabowo’s administration.
Addressing Performance Concerns
Prasetyo noted that the President’s decision was based on several critical observations regarding the agency’s operations. During a broadcast via the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, he stated, “There were many notes that served as the President’s basis for this leadership change.”
The evaluation highlighted persistent issues regarding discipline within the BGN, particularly concerning the enforcement of standard operating procedures for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Furthermore, the administration identified systemic weaknesses in institutional governance and concerns regarding the agency’s ability to maintain consistent food quality standards. Prasetyo emphasized that these factors were primary considerations that had accumulated over the past year and a half.
Leadership Restructuring and Future Expectations
Beyond the change in leadership at the top, President Prabowo has also replaced the two Deputy Heads of the BGN, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewijk Pusung. Their roles will now be filled by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono.
Looking ahead, the government has set clear expectations for the new leadership team. “We hope that the three new leaders of the National Nutrition Agency will immediately begin internal consolidation, strengthen coordination across ministries and institutions, and bolster collaboration with regional governments at the provincial and municipal levels,” Prasetyo concluded.
