The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has officially named three former high-ranking officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects in an alleged corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. These individuals are Dadan Hindayana, the recently removed Head of BGN, along with two Deputy Heads: Retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and Retired Army Lieutenant General Lodewijk Pusung.
The trio was observed by Katadata wearing distinctive pink prisoner uniforms as they emerged from the investigators’ examination room on Wednesday, June 3, at 5:11 PM WIB, at the Attorney General’s Office Building in Jakarta. Their hands were visibly handcuffed before they were escorted into a waiting prosecutor’s detention vehicle.
Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, the Director of Investigations for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office, confirmed that the designation of these individuals as suspects followed a thorough series of examinations. “Based on two sufficient pieces of evidence, the investigative team has formally designated DH, SS, and LP as suspects in the ongoing investigation into alleged corruption concerning the management of the MBG program,” Syarief stated during a press conference on Wednesday, June 3.
Earlier, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi had addressed reports concerning the examination of Dadan and the other two BGN officials. He affirmed the government’s commitment to allowing law enforcement agencies the necessary space to operate and uncover facts through established legal mechanisms. “Regarding the information circulating from morning to afternoon today, let us certainly grant law enforcement officials the opportunity to carry out their duties, and then we will collectively observe and await the outcomes,” Prasetyo told reporters in a statement on Wednesday, June 3.
In a related development, investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) conducted a search of the BGN office, located in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, earlier on Wednesday morning, June 3. This search, carried out by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), occurred shortly after President Prabowo Subianto removed three BGN leaders from their positions, including former Head Dadan Hindayana.
Prasetyo Hadi reiterated that the government intends to await the results of the ongoing process before drawing any conclusions regarding the various pieces of information emerging in the public domain. He emphasized that the process of leadership change within the BGN is an integral part of the government’s broader efforts to improve the agency’s governance and management structures. “Let it be clear to all of us that in running the government and in carrying out daily duties, we must continuously avoid actions that violate norms, especially legal norms,” Prasetyo asserted.
Significantly, these examinations took place just one day after President Prabowo Subianto officially dismissed Dadan Hindayana as Head of BGN on Tuesday evening, June 2. Dadan’s role has since been filled by Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who previously served as the Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation.
Furthermore, President Prabowo also initiated the replacement of the two Deputy Heads of BGN, Retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and Retired Army Lieutenant General Lodewijk Pusung. Their positions have now been assumed by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono, respectively. Agustina Arumsari previously held the position of Deputy Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). Meanwhile, Trenggono’s prior role was Deputy President Director of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara.
