The Indonesian National Police’s Directorate of Drug Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) has announced plans to forcibly bring in an influencer identified by the initials ZNM for questioning. This action follows the influencer’s repeated failure to appear for scheduled interrogations regarding the ongoing investigation into the illegal production of Whip Pink, a brand of nitrous oxide—commonly known as laughing gas.
Authorities are expanding their investigation into the illicit trade of these small gas canisters. Beyond ZNM, police intend to apprehend two other individuals, identified as APG and RV, after all three failed to provide a valid reason for missing their witness summons. “For RV, APG, and ZNM, who continue to ignore our summons, investigators will issue a warrant to bring them in for questioning,” stated Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, Head of Sub-directorate III of the Dittipidnarkoba, during a press briefing in Jakarta on Friday (May 29).
In contrast to the three who have been non-compliant, two other witnesses, CD and AM, have cooperated with the investigation. According to Harahap, CD fulfilled the summons on May 22, while AM provided testimony this past Friday. These five individuals—RV, AM, CD, APG, and ZNM—were summoned to clarify their potential involvement and use of the controversial Whip Pink products.
The police crackdown on Whip Pink began in April 2026, when investigators successfully dismantled a clandestine factory manufacturing nitrous oxide canisters in Jakarta. Interrogations of nine previously arrested witnesses revealed that the producer, PT SSS, operated without any legal standing or the required distribution permits from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM).
The investigation further uncovered that the production and distribution network was spearheaded by individuals identified as AH, SC, and JH. The operation was significant in scale, with 16 storage facilities scattered across 10 cities, spanning from Jakarta and Yogyakarta to Lombok.
