Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has announced that President Prabowo Subianto is actively preparing a new generation of leaders to head state-owned enterprises (BUMN) through the 2026 Presidential Future Leaders Program (PFLP). During a briefing for PFLP participants in Hambalang, West Java, on Sunday, the President emphasized that Indonesia’s national sovereignty is intrinsically linked to the caliber of its future leaders.
“This program, personally designed by the President, is intended to groom future leaders for our state-owned enterprises,” Teddy stated in an official release on Sunday (May 24).
The inaugural batch of the program features 400 participants. The PFLP serves as a cornerstone of President Prabowo’s vision to foster excellence in BUMN governance by cultivating human capital that possesses both strong moral integrity and sharp analytical capabilities.
According to Teddy, the intensive nine-month curriculum is divided into three critical phases. The first phase, spanning three months, focuses on building character and instilling discipline. This foundational period ensures that participants are grounded in the values necessary for high-level public service.
Following this, participants will undergo four months of training at the Danantara Corporate University to strengthen their managerial capacities and decision-making skills. The final two months of the program consist of internships within ministries, government institutions, and BUMN environments, providing participants with hands-on experience in both corporate management and government operations.
Teddy highlighted that this initiative is a vital component of the government’s broader strategy to ensure that future BUMN leadership is equipped to navigate the complex challenges of an evolving global landscape.
“This initiative is part of a larger government strategy to cultivate a generation of BUMN leaders who are professional, possess high integrity, and are capable of addressing the future challenges facing Indonesia,” Teddy added.
