Korea Masters 2025 – Anthony Ginting Mundur, Chico Aura Tulang Punggung Tunggal Putra

Rancak Media Indonesian men’s singles ace, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, has officially withdrawn from the Korea Masters 2025 due to an injury.

This setback continues a challenging period for Ginting, who has visibly struggled to rediscover his top form since being sidelined by an injury earlier this year. The former Korea Open champion has found it difficult to advance deep into tournaments, having rarely progressed beyond the quarterfinals since his return to the court last July. At best, Ginting only managed to reach the Round of 16 at both the Korea Open and the French Open 2025.

His latest health concern emerged following a grueling match against Chi Yu Jen at the French Open. The world number 11 men’s singles player endured a strenuous 78-minute, three-game battle against Chi Yu Jen, with scores of 21-14, 23-25, 15-21. This intense encounter ultimately led to the health issues that now force him to miss the BWF Super 300 tournament, the Korea Masters 2025, thereby postponing his opportunity to secure a title at a lower-tier event.

Assistant men’s singles coach, Harry Hartono, confirmed the situation, stating, “Anthony Sinisuka Ginting cannot play at the Korea Masters due to a quite bothersome lower back problem,” as quoted by Juara.net from PBSI. He added, “This condition became apparent after the match at the French Open yesterday.” Anthony is reportedly undergoing treatment from the national training center’s medical team following his fitness issues. “Following the medical team’s recommendation, he is required to rest for some time to optimally recover his physical condition before competing in the next tournament,” Harry further elaborated, emphasizing the priority on his full recovery.

With Ginting’s withdrawal, all eyes now turn to Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, who steps up as Indonesia’s primary hope in the men’s singles sector for the tournament. Chico enters the competition as the seventh seed, carrying the hopes of the nation on his shoulders.

The reigning Indonesia Masters champion is eager to end his drought for a Super 300 title this year and is poised to make a significant impact. In the Round of 32, Chico is scheduled to face Sri Lankan shuttler, Viren Nettasinghe, marking the start of his quest for the championship.

Beyond Chico, Indonesia boasts two other promising representatives in the men’s singles draw: Moh Zaki Ubaidillah, also known as Ubed, and Yohanes Saut Marcellyno. Ubed will contend against Taiwan’s Huang Ping-Hsien in the Round of 32. Meanwhile, Yohanes Saut Marcellyno will begin his campaign from the qualification rounds, where he is slated to take on England’s Wang Yue Hang.
