According to many, Ducati rider Marc Marquez is exceptionally skilled at exerting pressure on his rivals, a challenge his brother Alex Marquez has found unique ways to navigate.
Marc Marquez’s unparalleled track record unequivocally cements his status as one of the greatest riders in MotoGP history. His remarkable performances have consistently set him apart.
The ‘Alien’ even demonstrated dominant performance in his debut season as a factory Ducati rider in MotoGP 2025, clinching the world championship title with overwhelming prowess.
Even though he is currently recovering from an injury, his previous achievements remain astounding, having clinched a championship title with an incredible five races still remaining in the season, a feat that truly defied expectations.
The 32-year-old rider’s dominant displays have consistently captivated many, not least his own younger brother, Alex Marquez.
Representing Gresini Racing, Alex emerged as Marc Marquez’s closest challenger for this season’s world championship title, consistently delivering strong performances from the outset of the season.
However, due to a relative lack of experience, Alex had to concede defeat, allowing his older brother to secure his seventh career championship title.
Nevertheless, the 2019 Moto2 World Champion openly admits that overcoming Marc Marquez over a grueling 22-race season is an exceedingly difficult feat.
From Alex’s perspective, Francesco Bagnaia’s teammate—referring to Marc Marquez—possesses an uncanny ability to exert pressure, making it incredibly challenging for rivals to mount a sustained challenge.

This formidable pressure stems from Marquez’s unwavering willingness to take the highest risks on the track, consistently pushing his machine and himself to their absolute limits.
Despite this, Alex maintains his belief that victory over Marc Marquez is still attainable.
Speaking to Motosan, Alex elaborated, “Many factors can shift within a single year, causing a rider’s fortunes to swing from the very top to the bottom.”
He continued, “I have always maintained that it is exceptionally challenging to defeat Marc Marquez across a full 22-race season.”
Adding to his thoughts, “As a rival, the sheer pressure he applies is incredibly difficult to manage and accept.”
“His conviction to push to the absolute limit is truly key,” Alex concluded, “but ultimately, nothing is truly out of reach.”
Looking ahead, Alex himself anticipates a heightened pressure to surpass Marc next season, especially as he will be provided with a different, and presumably more competitive, motorcycle compared to the current season.
Explaining his outlook, Alex stated, “Let’s see what happens with the same bike; next season, I accept the pressure to contend for the title right until the very end.”
He stressed, “That is completely normal, but altering my fundamental approach would be a significant mistake.”
During the same discussion, the 29-year-old rider outlined two distinct strategies for confronting the immense pressure exerted by Marc Marquez, regardless of whether he is a direct rival or a teammate.
Alex explained, “There are two primary ways to approach Marquez: you can either harbor jealousy and tell yourself, ‘Okay, he can do it, but I will eventually reach that level.'”
He elaborated, “This approach implies that you aren’t overtly focusing on him because you possess unwavering confidence in your own potential to achieve similar results.”
Alex then described the alternative: “The other method to overcome him is to simply accept that he is currently superior, acknowledge his prowess, observe his techniques, and learn diligently from him.”
