KPK Bakal Rampas Aset dari Kasus TPPU Antonius Kosasih dan Kembalikan ke Taspen

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has successfully returned approximately IDR 913 billion in assets recovered from a fictitious investment case involving PT Taspen. This significant restitution opens the possibility for Taspen to eventually reclaim a total of over IDR 1 trillion as the extensive investigation into the pension fund investment corruption continues.

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, elaborated that the potential for further asset recovery could increase through the ongoing Money Laundering (TPPU) case implicating Antonius NS Kosasih, the former President Director of Taspen. Currently, assets valued at IDR 160 billion are still undergoing judicial proceedings, suggesting a promising outlook for additional recoveries.

“Should these corrupt funds have been relocated, had their control transferred, or been transformed into different assets, the total value we ultimately recover could be even larger. We encourage the public to continue following the court proceedings,” Asep stated at his office on Thursday (November 20), emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the KPK’s efforts.

The IDR 913 billion already returned to Taspen comprises IDR 883 billion in cash and IDR 30 billion in securities. These assets originated from corrupt activities perpetrated by Ekiawan Heri Primaryanto, the former Director of PT Insight Investment Management, who is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence for his involvement.

Parallel to these efforts, Antonius Kosasih was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined IDR 500 million by the Jakarta Corruption Court. This verdict in 2019 was related to his alleged role in the fictitious investment scheme, with the panel of judges stipulating an additional six months of imprisonment should Antonius fail to pay the imposed fine.

Taspen’s President Director, Rony Hanityo Aprianto, clarified that the funds misappropriated by Ekiawan and Antonius Kosasih were sourced from the Old Age Benefits (Tunjangan Hari Tua) product. Rony explained that this program is designed to provide civil servants nearing retirement with a lump-sum payment, underscoring the critical importance of these funds to their beneficiaries.

“The management of pension funds for civil servants is unequivocally a core responsibility of Taspen. Therefore, this substantial asset recovery by the KPK represents a commendable and vital step in restoring the unwavering trust of our clients in Taspen,” Rony concluded, highlighting the positive impact of the anti-corruption agency’s intervention on public confidence.
