Rosan Roeslani, who serves as both the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming and CEO of Danantara, revealed a significant development: King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has offered three strategic project opportunities to Danantara. This pivotal move is aimed at strengthening investment ties between the two nations. Rosan disclosed this news after accompanying President Prabowo Subianto in a meeting with King Abdullah II at a Jakarta hotel on Saturday (15/11).
Elaborating on the offers, Rosan specified three key areas: a gas pipeline project, the construction of a toll road, and ventures within the logistics sector. These strategic projects are deemed highly compatible with the existing investment portfolio of Indonesia’s Investment Management Institution, Danantara (BPI Danantara). Rosan further affirmed, “These involve three projects: gas pipelining, toll road development, and logistics.”
Returns Offered by Danantara
Notably, prior to extending these investment opportunities, King Abdullah II had sought insights into Danantara’s projected investment returns. Rosan confirmed that the proposed projects align perfectly with the institution’s unique character and target return profile. “He offered those three projects,” Rosan stated, “and before that, he had also asked me about Danantara’s returns. It turns out this fits with Danantara’s returns.”
Rosan emphasized that these promising proposals would be meticulously followed up with an in-depth evaluation, conducted under the direct guidance of President Prabowo Subianto. This comprehensive review highlights the Indonesian government’s unwavering support for productive and strategically measured investment expansion. “Therefore, he made the offer, and we will follow up and evaluate it with the direct approval of President Prabowo to study these projects offered by the Kingdom of Jordan,” Rosan explained.
To facilitate this, Danantara plans to dispatch a specialized team tasked with scrutinizing the technical, financial, and implementation aspects of each proposed project. This forthcoming field assessment is expected to yield a comprehensive analysis, which will form the crucial foundation for Danantara’s strategic decisions in expanding its collaboration with Jordan and solidifying its international investment footprint. Rosan concluded, “Later we will send a team, we will send a team to start looking into the details of these projects.”
