As Vivo's flagship, the Vivo X80 series offers some firsts to smartphone markets around the world. This is the first flagship to use the Dimensity 9000 chipset from MediaTek. The Vivo V1+ photography chip and Sony IMX866 sensor are also debuting on a flagship device for the first time.

Vivo X80

Starting with the design, the vivo X80 features a curved AMOLED display on the front and a flat glass back panel with a rectangular ceramic camera module on top.

With a maximum brightness of up to 1000 nits and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the Samsung E5's 6.78-inch curved AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz E5 serves as the phone's display.

Meanwhile, for the kitchen spur, the X80 is equipped with the Dimensity 9000 chipset, with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM which can be "upgraded" by 4 GB and 256 GB of internal storage with UFS 3.1 technology.

A 4,500 mAh battery and 80W fast charging are also supported for this smartphone. Vivo says that its 80W fast charging can charge from 0% to 50% in 11 minutes and from 0% to 100% in 34 minutes, according to the company.

Regarding photography, apart from ISP on MediaTek Dimensity 9000, Vivo X80 also comes with Vivo's first in-house ISP, namely Vivo V1+. vivo proudly claims that the vivo V1+ ISP combined with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 has allowed them to develop newer and more advanced smartphone camera algorithms.

The back of the X80 is equipped with a camera or camera. The main sensor is Sony's latest 50 MP IMX866. In addition, Vivo's default 50 MP sensor comes with a wide aperture of f/1.75, OIS stabilization, and a choice of RGBW colors.

The Vivo X80 Pro has a similar design to the vivo X80 and has the same curved AMOLED display on the front, a flat matte glass panel on the back, and offers IP68 protection against water and dust. The display on the front is upgraded to a 6.78-inch 2K 120Hz LTPO E5 Samsung AMOLED.

Still on the front of this smartphone, Vivo also equipped the Vivo X80 Pro with a 32 MP front camera embedded in a punch-hole in the top center of the screen. The display also supports brightness up to 1500 nits, 10-bit color and HDR10+ video.

Unlike its sibling, the X80 Pro comes to the world market with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. There is also support for 12GB of LPPDR5 RAM and can be upgraded up to 4GB.

The internal storage capacity is 256 GB with UFS 3.1. The battery capacity is 4,700 mAh, and the charging speed is 80W via cable and 50W via FlashCharge (wireless).

For the camera sector, the Vivo X80 Pro is also equipped with the latest Vivo V1+ ISP and has a more capable quad-camera configuration on the back. The main sensor is the ultra-sensing 50 MP Samsung GNV with OIS stabilization support.

As the first Android flagship to incorporate the Samsung GNV sensor, Vivo promises that with this new technology, the Vivo X80 Pro will be able to reveal the hues of the night, making the night appear brighter and more realistic. The other three cameras are a 48 MP ultra wide lens (IMX598), a 12 MP telephoto (IMX663), and an 8 MP periscope.

Vivo X80

All lenses are also equipped with Zeiss T* coating technology which attempts to provide photos with truer colors and finer details in low light photography. The Vivo X80 Pro has been equipped with the same flagship X-axis linear motor and up-down dual stereo speakers as the X80.

Like the X80, the Pro model runs on Funtouch OS 12, which is built on Android version 12. Vivo X80 will be available in Cosmic Black and Urban Blue colors for Malaysian customers. The Vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, is only available in Cosmic Black.

With pre-orders starting on May 8 in Malaysia, the basic version of the Vivo X80 ($349/Rp. 11.6 million) and the pro version ($499/Rp. 16.6 million) are both available for pre-order. A free gift and a two-year local manufacturer's warranty are included with every gadget.
