Sony Presents Linux Drivers For PS5 Controllers

Sony Presents Linux Drivers For PS5 Controllers – There is good news for Linux game fans. Sony has released official Linux drivers for the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. This allows players to use controllers to play Linux games.

The all-new Linux kernel driver brings support for key functionality of Sony's PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, including gamepad, touchpad and motion sensors both in USB and Bluetooth models. This was submitted by Phoronix.

At the same time, drivers haven't yet provided continued power support from the newer controllers, such as Adaptive Triggers and VCM-based haptics.

Sony's PlayStation console has long been recognized as Linux-friendly. Throughout the years Linux users have installed this operating mechanism on their PlayStation machines. Therefore, it is not surprising that the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller is now supported by Linux.

For Linux gamers, the added support for the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller, means they can use it for gaming and want Sony to make their other PlayStation peripherals compatible with that base.
