AC Milan Still Wins Even though 5 Players Are Absent, This Is the Secret

AC Milan Still Wins Even though 5 Players Are Absent, This Is the Secret – AC Milan was without five main players when they met Sassuolo. However, Stefano Pioli's troops still performed well and won three points. Milan is still flying high in the standings.

Milan met Sassuolo in match Week 13 of Serie A, Sunday (20/12/2020) evening WIB. In the match at the Mapei Stadium, Milan won with a score of 1-2 through goals from Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Milan is in a difficult condition ahead of the match against Sassuolo. They have only drawn in the last two matches and the standings are starting to be threatened by Inter Milan who are doing well in Serie A.

Stefano Pioli admits that playing against Sassuolo means more than three points. The Rossoneri youth side are receiving credit for winning while they are in a rush of successive results in the last two outings.

“I often tell the players that there are times when a match has a more valuable meaning. We're not happy with the draw, it's been a really tough day psychologically. Winning gives great satisfaction," said Pioli.

Not only is it a matter of the results in the last two matches, Milan did not appear with the best team when they met Sassuolo. The five main players were absent, namely Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia, Ante Rebic and Ismael Bennacer.

"This group is solid and cohesive, it's hard to find a way out of the absence of several players. However, anyone who gets the opportunity can answer very well," said Pioli.

Hakan Calhanoglu became the oldest player in the Milan team when he met Sassuolo, 26 years old. The Rossoneri with the youngest team can fly high and become the 2nd team to beat Sassuolo this season.

"We signal to ourselves, to the club that puts us in the best conditions to work, to the technical place that has bought young players with personality, and the fans."

"Those who say that no fans have helped us to grow and maybe they are right, but now they are going to make us fly just like Zlatan Ibrahimovic said. We want to give them a happy thought," said Pioli.
