Appointed Minister, Sandiaga Uno Thinks About Realizing OK-OCE

Appointed Minister, Sandiaga Uno Thinks About Realizing OK-OCE - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Uno, said he would discuss with his corps at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy regarding the opportunities for further improvement of the OK OCE program which he had initiated before.

"Later we will watch it together with friends here," said Sandiaga Uno, Friday (25/12/2020).

He explained that he had just received a report from the OK OCE movement association on the ground that a large number of its fostered members were engaged in tourism and the creative economy.

This evidence is a huge force that can be used as an effort to revive the tourism and creative economy sectors which have been significantly affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

However, Sandiaga Uno admitted that he did not want to be careless and hasty, but discussed it further with his internal ranks at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"We just received a report from colleagues at the OK OCE movement association in their data that they have almost 70 % engaged in tourism and the creative economy, so we don't want to be in a hurry, we will discuss it with the ranks," he said.

Sandiaga Uno knows that the Covid-19 outbreak is a big obstacle for the tourism and creative economy sector that requires real effort to develop it.

"But we have to be optimistic that the tourism and creative economy sectors will recover soon and get back on their feet, at the same time that this outbreak will be overcome," said Sandiaga Uno.

Because according to the Former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, the tourism and creative economy sectors are the vital fields that generate foreign exchange and open up the fastest, and largest, job opportunities. "It is very important in our economic recovery efforts," said Sandiaga Uno.

Sandiaga Uno sees that his new job is to make the tourism and creative economy sector of Indonesia in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak really tough.

Sandiaga Uno explained that the development of the tourism and creative economy (ekraf) sector will depend on the recovery of residents' health from the Covid-19 outbreak.

"The work and mandate said by the President and Vice President are extremely difficult because of the awakening of the Indonesian nation to recover from Covid-19," said Sandiaga Uno.

"And continuing the development schedule, especially in the tourism and creative sectors will depend on health recovery in terms of Covid-19, with our efforts to apply strict and disciplined health procedures," said Sandiaga Uno again.

He explained that another job of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is to ensure the sustainability and resilience of businesses in the tourism and creative economy sectors which are currently being affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

The impact of the outbreak has resulted in many layoffs (PHK) in the tourism and creative economy sectors.

"The field of tourism and creative arts can become a locomotive after the Covid-19 pandemic for us to continue the development schedule in this field to always open as wide as possible job opportunities to bring prosperity to the Indonesian people," he said.

The owner of Saratoga explained that the strategy for increasing tourism and the creative economy that he will build is a development and adjustment strategy.

"Development tactics using technology, using a big data approach, a modern approach to mapping both in terms of strength and strengthening, and ensuring that several actors in the tourism and creative sector can survive," explained Sandiaga Uno.

"But not only survive, but also thrive (grow). The second is adjustment, because we are currently facing an outbreak, prioritizing safety and health in every tourism destination and in every creative line," he added.

He explained that he would apply development tactics using big data technology to process and revive the tourism and creative economy sectors which were affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

"The tactics that may be adopted are development strategies using technology, using a big data approach, a modern approach to mapping both in terms of strength and strengthening," said Sandiaga Uno.
