Bank BNI will soon open a branch in Metaverse

Rancakmedia.com - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) will open a branch in Metaverse. Currently creating an augmented reality system in partnership with a technology company, WIR Group.

BNI in Metaverse: BNI has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a mechanism for opening branches in Metaverse. Last Tuesday (15/2/2022), BNI and WIR Group signed a memorandum of understanding.

"We see everyone in the world flocking there, including BNI," said BNI IT and Operations Director YB Hariantono.

Metaverse will be home to BNI's virtual, augmented and artificial intelligence (AI) projects, according to the company.

Customers are expected to have a new digital banking experience in the future. Apart from that, there will also be new items offered by BNI in the Metaverse.

However, BNI has not said anything about the new products it is expected to introduce in the Metaverse.

"We will develop a new business environment in it, such as digital branches, digital goods, new services and interactions with consumers," said Hariantono. (alg)

BNI will reinvent the client's transaction experience, not only dealing with computers, BNI workers will also take the form of an avatar.

According to him, the metaverse will affect many things in banking activities in the future. Instead of coming to a BNI branch office and making physical transactions, now transactions can be done in the metaverse thanks to the presence of virtual branch offices.

Community members don't just see the data from the gadget, they experience it too. Using avatars or even virtual branch offices, the general public, according to him, is as if they are face to face with bank workers.

BNI wants its consumers to be able to communicate with each other through the metaverse. "Whether it's an explanation regarding goods or complaints of difficulties, people feel it for themselves, and deal with it, even though it only happens online," said Eriana during a virtual press conference, Tuesday (16/2/2022).
