Held from November 27–28, this year’s event was a significant partnership with the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) and the Ministry of Finance One (Kemenkeu Satu) Aceh Province, underscoring a united front for regional economic advancement.
Under the compelling theme, “Synergy of Plantations and Treasury for Kemenkeu Satu,” Sinara Fest 2025 delivered a comprehensive program. It featured a dynamic series of educational sessions, public outreach, insightful discussions, and a lively mini-bazaar showcasing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM). The festival’s primary objective was to deepen public understanding of vital plantation commodities while actively fostering the growth and upgrading of UMKM specializing in palm oil, coconut, and cocoa-based products.
During his welcome address, Mahpud Sujai, Head of Budget Implementation Supervision II at the Regional Office of DJPb Aceh, powerfully articulated the critical importance of empowering small business owners as fundamental pillars of the national economy. He emphasized, “UMKM play a pivotal role in stimulating economic activity, generating employment, and bolstering our exports.”
Continuing his remarks at the Sinara Fest 2025 Socialization event, Mahpud highlighted Aceh’s immense potential for sustained growth by fully leveraging its abundant local raw materials. This strategic focus aims to transform regional resources into tangible economic prosperity, creating opportunities for businesses and communities alike.
Adding to the discourse, Helmi Muhansah, Head of Community Cooperation and UMKM Division at BPDP, underscored the substantial contribution of palm oil to the nation’s revenue. His insights revealed the profound economic impact of this key commodity.
Helmi elaborated on palm oil’s extensive benefits, noting its significant role in generating foreign exchange and reducing import dependency. He emphasized that its potential extends far beyond crude palm oil (CPO), reaching into high-value derivative products utilized in cosmetics, energy, and even intricate handicrafts, illustrating its versatility and economic breadth.
Beyond its educational endeavors, Sinara Fest 2025 vividly demonstrated the real-world impact of plantations in daily life, particularly through the diverse products offered by palm oil-based UMKM. The festival showcased how these commodities are transformed into innovative and practical goods, directly benefiting consumers and driving local economies.
Further enriching the discussions were topics focused on opportunities for commodity-based business development and the crucial need to strengthen the value chain, from upstream cultivation to downstream processing and market access. These sessions provided strategic insights for participants looking to expand and optimize their ventures.
Mahpud further detailed how the treasury actively supports the plantation sector through transparent, accountable, and targeted budget management. This meticulous approach ensures that every program is executed with maximum effectiveness, fostering a robust and sustainable environment for growth within the industry.
He passionately urged UMKM to elevate their operations, offering comprehensive support through financing, specialized training, and dedicated mentorship. Mahpud specifically addressed common challenges such as business management and market access, advocating for more directed and strategic solutions to empower these enterprises.
Complementing this, Helmi added that BPDP consistently expands its empowerment programs, dedicated to ensuring that entrepreneurs can fully capitalize on the value chain of various commodities. He clarified that strengthening the capacity of UMKM remains a core focus for the agency, underpinning their commitment to fostering local business growth.
Helmi stressed their ambition to significantly bolster palm oil-based UMKM, encompassing everything from groundbreaking research and innovative waste utilization to advanced downstream processing that yields high-value-added products. This holistic approach aims to maximize the economic potential of the entire value chain.
A particularly inspiring segment of the event featured Febri Yunarta, Owner of Cambiacraft and a beneficiary of BPDP’s UMKM mentorship program. Febri presented her innovative creative products derived from palm oil and shared her compelling entrepreneurial journey, offering tangible proof of success.
Febri’s experience powerfully illustrated that innovation within the plantation sector can indeed lead to the creation of high-value, highly competitive products. Beyond insightful discussions and awareness campaigns, Sinara Fest 2025 also enriched participant engagement through interactive activities, including communal exercise sessions and the popular UMKM mini-bazaar, which featured an array of plantation commodity derivatives.
The presence of the UMKM booths emerged as a major highlight, offering visitors a direct and immersive experience. They showcased precisely how palm oil and other key commodities can be skillfully processed into valuable, ready-to-use products with significant economic potential, bridging the gap between raw materials and market-ready goods.
The second day of the event was officially inaugurated by Paryan, Head of Kemenkeu Satu Aceh and Head of the DJP Aceh Regional Office, through a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.
