Pemerintah Yakin Ekonomi Tumbuh 5,6% Akhir Tahun, Dorong Perputaran Uang Rp 85 T

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, expresses strong confidence that Indonesia’s economic growth in the current final quarter will be the highest seen throughout the year. The government is actively pursuing strategies to inject at least Rp 85 trillion into the economy next month, aiming to bolster financial circulation and consumer activity.

Airlangga highlighted three pivotal programs designed to stimulate this significant influx of money. These initiatives include Cash Social Assistance for Public Welfare amounting to Rp 30 trillion, a substantial shopping discount program projected to circulate at least Rp 30 trillion, and the distribution of approximately Rp 25 trillion through the People’s Business Credit (KUR) scheme, empowering small and medium enterprises.

In addition to these direct stimulus measures, Airlangga noted an anticipated surge in government spending next month. This strategic increase aims to ensure that the average expenditure target for each ministry reaches 90% by the end of the year. “Consequently, we expect a robust contribution from increased government spending and enhanced public mobility during the festive season, including the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays. We are optimistic that the economy in this final quarter can achieve growth between 5.4% and 5.6%,” Airlangga stated from his office on Wednesday, November 26.

Further boosting consumer spending, the Minister of Trade announced three major shopping discount programs scheduled for next month. These initiatives are designed to invigorate the retail sector, offering attractive incentives to shoppers nationwide. The programs are:

  1. Harbolnas 2025 (National Online Shopping Day): December 10-16, 2025
  2. BINA (Belanja di Indonesia Aja – Shop in Indonesia Campaign): December 18, 2025 – January 4, 2026
  3. EPIC (Every Purchase is Cheap): December 1-31, 2025

Collectively, these programs are expected to provide discounts of up to 80%, driving significant consumer engagement throughout December.

Meanwhile, the tourism sector anticipates a remarkable rebound. Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, projects that foreign tourist arrivals will reach 1.3 million people next year, complemented by an impressive 100 million domestic tourist movements. This robust forecast signals a strong recovery and expansion for Indonesia’s travel industry.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for January-October 2025 shows an average monthly foreign tourist visit of around 1.03 million people, while domestic tourist movements totaled approximately 75.79 million journeys. Ni Luh anticipates that tourist movement next month (December) will be the highest recorded this year, primarily spurred by significant transportation ticket discounts.

The government is rolling out substantial discounts on various modes of transportation to facilitate holiday travel during the Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 period:

Sea travel tickets: 20% discount for journeys from December 17, 2025, to January 10, 2026

Long-distance economy class train tickets: 30% discount for journeys from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026

Ferry crossing tickets: 19% discount for journeys from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026

Flight tickets: 13%-14% discount for journeys from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026

Furthermore, Ni Luh highlighted that the dynamism of the tourism sector will be significantly amplified by 244 festival, music, and exhibition events scheduled throughout December 2025. Four of these major events alone are projected to attract over 1 million tourists: the Djakarta Warehouse Project in Bali, Jogjarockarta Festival, Minangkabau Festival, and BigBang Festival. “We have also prepared 65 tourism packages covering both 10 priority and non-priority destinations. We are currently still hosting a Travel Fair for the December 2025 to January 2026 travel period,” she added, emphasizing the comprehensive efforts to promote tourism.
