Jakarta Composite Index Rises Slightly, Gold Stocks ARCI, BRMS, ANTM, HRTA Plunge

The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) concluded its first trading session today, Tuesday (4/11), with a notable ascent, gaining 21.09 points or 0.25% to reach the 8,296 level. This positive movement signaled an encouraging start for the domestic stock market.

Detailed trading data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) revealed significant activity. The total transaction value for shares reached an impressive Rp 8.91 trillion, driven by a robust volume of 15.25 billion shares traded across 1.31 million transactions. While 264 stocks managed to strengthen, a larger proportion, 347 stocks, experienced corrections, and 197 stocks remained unchanged. The overall market capitalization of the IHSG during this session stood at Rp 15,141 trillion.

Interestingly, even as the IHSG rallied, stocks associated with gold commodities experienced significant declines. PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk (HRTA) saw its share price plummet by 3.94% to Rp 1,220. This contrasting performance underscores sector-specific dynamics within the broader market.

Analyzing sectorial performance, only five out of the eleven stock sectors on the BEI managed to close in the green. The industrial sector emerged as the frontrunner, posting the largest gain of 4.02%. Among the industrial sector’s positive contributors was PT Multi Hanna Kreasindo Tbk (MHKI), which advanced 1.64% to Rp 248, reflecting investor interest in this segment.

On a broader regional front, major Asian stock markets largely trended downwards. The Hang Seng Index registered a decline of 0.16%, the Shanghai Composite experienced a correction of 0.34%, the Straits Times slipped by 0.12%, and Japan’s Nikkei index decreased by 0.61%, indicating a widespread cautious sentiment across the continent.
