Amman Mineral: Concentrate Export Permit Extended Until April 2026

PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT), a subsidiary of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk, has successfully secured a crucial copper concentrate export recommendation from Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). This vital export permit, authorizing the shipment of 480,000 dry metric tons (dmt), will be valid for a six-month period, commencing on October 31, 2025, and extending through April 2026.

This significant recommendation serves as an essential foundation, paving the way for the Ministry of Trade to issue the official Copper Concentrate Export Approval Letter (SPE) for AMNT.

The granting of this export authorization is directly linked to a force majeure event experienced at the company’s processing and refining facility, its smelter. Rachmat Makkasau, President Director of AMNT, elaborated that the smelter temporarily ceased operations in July and August 2025 due to critical repairs on its Flash Converting Furnace and Sulfuric Acid Plant units.

“This damage was purely beyond our control, unintentional, and unavoidable,” stated Rachmat in an official release on Saturday, November 1. “AMNT’s smelter operations were compelled to a temporary halt to prevent more severe damage and mitigate risks to occupational safety.”

Repairs to Extend Until 2026

Rachmat further explained that the rectification of these primary smelter components is highly complex and necessitates a comprehensive approach. This intricate repair process is projected to continue until the first half of 2026.

“Throughout the repair period, we are maintaining partial operations with careful production increases, ensuring that safety aspects are never compromised,” he added, emphasizing the company’s commitment.

With the resumption of copper concentrate export sales, which had been suspended since early 2025, Amman Mineral is diligently managing its concentrate storage warehouses to prevent any overcapacity.

This strategic measure ensures that mining operations can proceed according to schedule, simultaneously upholding the company’s fiscal contribution to both the national and regional economies.

According to its 9M 2025 performance report, AMNT aims to produce 430,000 dmt of copper concentrate in 2025. This production is expected to yield approximately 228 million pounds of copper and 90,000 ounces of gold. The target strategically accounts for production derived from both existing stockpiles and lower-grade fresh ore from Phase 8 mining operations.

Current mining activities remain focused on overburden stripping within this phase. In addition to the 2025 production target, AMMAN also reported an impressive inventory of 190,000 dmt by the end of 2024.

As of September 30, 2025, concentrate production had reached 310,143 dmt, with 273,506 dmt already fed into the smelter facility. The total concentrate inventory at the end of September 2025 stood at 226,637 dmt. A portion of this inventory is earmarked for export, while the remainder will be processed at the smelter as facility repairs advance.

“These developments signify a crucial phase towards the full recovery of our smelter operations, underscoring AMNT’s unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable growth and delivering long-term value,” Rachmat concluded.
