Jakarta, IDN Times – The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) experienced a notable correction in its performance this week, mirrored by a corresponding decline in the stock market’s overall capitalization.
Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Corporate Secretary of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), confirmed that stock trading data at the IDX for the week spanning October 27-31, 2025, closed with varied movements. “The IHSG underwent a 1.3 percent change, closing at 8,163.875 from its level of 8,271.722 last week,” he stated in an official release, quoted on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
1. Market Capitalization Shrinks
In line with the IHSG’s downturn this week, the market capitalization at the IDX also contracted significantly. Over the five trading days this week, the IDX’s market capitalization was recorded at Rp14,857 trillion. This figure marks a substantial 2.48 percent decrease from the previous week’s total, which stood at Rp15,234 trillion.
2. Average Daily Transaction Volume Sees Highest Rise
Amidst the broader market correction, one of the most significant upticks was observed in the average daily transaction volume of the Exchange. This week, it surged by 3.72 percent, reaching 31.61 billion shares, up from 30.47 billion shares in the preceding week. Parallel to this, the average daily transaction value at the IDX also saw an increase of 1.55 percent, climbing to Rp22.63 trillion from last week’s Rp22.28 trillion. Conversely, the average daily transaction frequency experienced a slight dip of 1.79 percent, settling at 2.32 million transactions compared to 2.37 million transactions in the previous week.
3. Foreign Investors Record Rp47.317 Trillion Year-to-Date Net Sell
On Friday, October 31, foreign investors recorded a net buy of Rp1.13 trillion. However, when looking at the year-to-date performance, foreign investors have accumulated a net sell value of Rp47.317 trillion. This figure remains consistent with the previous week’s cumulative net sell, indicating a sustained pattern of foreign capital outflow over the year.
