Menhut Uji Coba Kendaraan dengan Bahan Bakar Bioetanol dari Aren

Indonesia’s Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, recently conducted a successful trial of an innovative aren-based bioethanol fuel in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. The test was performed using a Toyota Fortuner diesel car, showcasing the promising potential of this renewable energy source.

During a press conference held after the trial in Kamojang, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, Minister Antoni highlighted the advanced nature of the fuel. “While we currently use blends like B40 or B50, this is E100, and the car performed flawlessly,” he stated, underscoring the efficiency and viability of the pure bioethanol blend.

Minister Antoni confirmed that the aren-fueled vehicle encountered no operational issues throughout the test, a testament to its effectiveness. This pioneering bioethanol is sustainably sourced from aren palm trees cultivated by local farmers in Bojonggambir, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java, a region already recognized for its valuable contribution to vehicle fuel production.

Expressing strong optimism, Raja Juli linked the success of this trial to President Prabowo Subianto’s ambitious vision for achieving robust national energy security, particularly emphasizing the critical role of the bioethanol sector.

“President Prabowo’s aspirations will undoubtedly materialize. Today’s successful run of the Fortuner vehicle serves as tangible proof, and we are committed to consistently pursuing this initiative,” he affirmed, reinforcing the government’s dedication.

According to Minister Antoni, Indonesia possesses immense potential for the extensive development of new and renewable energy sources. He outlined an ambitious national target: cultivating one million hectares of aren palm trees, projected to yield an astounding 24 million kiloliters of ethanol annually.

“Should we successfully achieve this one-million-hectare aren cultivation goal, we would be capable of producing 24 million kiloliters of ethanol, thereby eliminating the need for fuel imports,” he elaborated. “This achievement would profoundly enhance our national energy security and firmly establish Indonesia as a leader in new and renewable energy.”
