Purbaya ungkap Kemenkeu siapkan relaksasi pembiayaan daerah terdampak bencana

Rancak Media – , JAKARTA — The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is actively preparing financing relaxation measures for local governments affected by disasters. These measures primarily focus on easing infrastructure loan obligations, pending the comprehensive damage assessment on the ground.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced that the stimulus package, falling under the Ministry of Finance’s purview, will specifically target adjustments to local government loan responsibilities. This particularly applies to loans extended by PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) for critical infrastructure development such as roads and bridges.

“In the Ministry of Finance, what exactly would we abolish? We have local government loans to SMI, for instance, used to build bridges, construct roads, and so forth. We will assess the situation, and if the infrastructure is completely destroyed, then those obligations will be waived,” Purbaya stated before attending a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Monday, December 15, 2025.

However, Purbaya emphasized that the waiver of loan obligations would not be a blanket policy. He clarified that adjustments would be made precisely based on the extent of infrastructure damage observed in each affected region.

“But if the infrastructure still stands, the obligations will be reduced according to the conditions of the area. If a bridge is still there, why would it be waived? These projects are typically constructed section by section. We will examine the specific conditions,” he elaborated.

Purbaya further added that the government stands ready to nullify financing for infrastructure projects that have been completely obliterated by disasters. “We are prepared to zero out projects that are truly lost. If they are gone, if the roads are destroyed, we will zero them out,” he affirmed.

Regarding the initial assessment of the number of affected infrastructure elements, including bridges, Purbaya noted that the data collection process is still underway. This crucial data will subsequently form the basis for further discussions and collaboration with PT SMI.
