Rustian elaborated that the incoming aid represents the initial phase, primarily comprising essential logistical supplies and critical emergency communication devices. These devices are vital for restoring information networks in affected areas where telecommunication infrastructure has been severely disrupted by the disaster.
“These devices are instrumental in re-establishing signal connectivity in isolated locations, ensuring that emergency communication can be swiftly operationalized,” he further explained.
Rustian also noted a significant improvement in West Sumatra’s weather conditions upon the arrival of the aid. The region, previously deluged by heavy rains, saw these conditions brought under control through meticulously executed weather modification operations conducted across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
“This strategic effort successfully diverted rainfall towards the sea, adhering to standard protocols. However, ultimately, everything is subject to the Almighty’s will, while humans continue to strive their best,” he wisely remarked.
Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari, also present at the scene, affirmed his office’s commitment to ensuring all aid aligns perfectly with the President’s directives and is ready for immediate deployment in the field.
“We received the aid manifest from BNPB, which we then meticulously matched against our records, and Alhamdulillah, everything is complete as per the President’s instructions,” Qodari stated with satisfaction.
He underscored that the speed of distribution is paramount for an effective emergency response. Qodari, alongside BNPB and local government officials, is scheduled to visit the most severely damaged areas, including Padang Pariaman, the following day. The findings from this crucial inspection will be promptly relayed to the President to accelerate subsequent response measures.
