PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has swiftly deployed emergency relief aid to support victims of the devastating flash floods and landslides that have impacted several areas in Padang City since Monday, November 24, 2025. This crucial assistance is channeled through the BNI Berbagi program, underscoring the company’s steadfast commitment to disaster management and fostering early community recovery efforts.
Okki Rushartomo, Corporate Secretary of BNI, highlighted the bank’s rapid response, explaining that BNI immediately focused its aid on the most urgent logistical needs of the affected residents. The goal is to ensure immediate support reaches those most vulnerable in the wake of the disaster.
“BNI continues to move swiftly in distributing emergency aid to ensure that the basic needs of the community are promptly met, thereby accelerating the recovery process,” Okki affirmed in a written statement, emphasizing the urgency and dedication behind their efforts.
The comprehensive aid package includes essential food supplies and daily necessities such as rice, instant noodles, eggs, and ready-to-eat meals. Additionally, critical provisions for infants and the elderly, like diapers, baby milk, and baby porridge, are being distributed. Prioritization for this aid targets the most severely affected areas, which have been declared disaster emergency zones, including Koto Tangah and Pauh District.
The total relief package was officially handed over to the Padang City Government by Risnaldi, BNI’s West Sumatra Area Head, and Andreas, Padang Branch Manager. Padang Mayor Fadly Amran directly received the aid, which is earmarked for distribution to approximately 2,000 affected households, ensuring it reaches families in dire need.
Beyond Padang, BNI’s humanitarian efforts extend to Sibolga, North Sumatra, where the bank is also providing emergency assistance to communities impacted by recent disasters. For the initial phase of the emergency response, covering one week post-incident, BNI has allocated aid totaling Rp25 million, demonstrating its broad commitment to national disaster relief.
Should the disaster conditions in Sibolga persist for a longer duration or escalate in impact, BNI is prepared to coordinate further with relevant institutions. This collaborative approach aims to facilitate a sustainable and comprehensive recovery process for the affected communities in Sibolga.
Currently, the aid designated for Sibolga is in the final stages of distribution. It will be promptly disbursed following thorough field coordination with local stakeholders, a critical step to guarantee that the assistance reaches those residents who are truly in need and can benefit most from the support.
Okki further clarified that these relief efforts are an integral part of BNI’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. This program is strategically designed to bolster community resilience, empowering them to effectively cope with and recover from emergency situations.
“We sincerely hope that this assistance not only addresses urgent needs but also serves as a tangible expression of our care and provides moral support to the affected communities,” Okki stressed, highlighting the emotional and psychological uplift BNI aims to provide.
BNI unequivocally reaffirms its unwavering commitment to remain a steadfast presence during times of crisis, continuously striving to provide meaningful benefits to disaster-affected communities across various regions.
