The market weakness was pervasive across sectors, with nine out of eleven sectors on the BEI closing in the red zone. The financial sector, a key indicator of market health, notably decreased by 1.19% sectorally. Major banking stocks were not immune to this pressure; PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) corrected by 1.64% to Rp 6,000, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) fell by 2.21% to Rp 3,100. Meanwhile, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) saw a more modest decline of 0.47% to Rp 4,200.

Despite the overall market decline, some stocks garnered significant trading interest. PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) emerged as the most actively traded stock by value until midday, attracting Rp 879.21 billion in transactions. It was closely followed by PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) with Rp 603.89 billion in trades, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), which, despite its share price dip, recorded Rp 530 billion in transaction value.

Midday Top Gainers:

  • PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) surged 9.12% to Rp 1,615.
  • PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) climbed 7.65% to Rp 1,900.
  • PT Fast Food Indonesia Tbk (FAST) rose 6.78% to Rp 252.
