Danantara Indonesia Trust bakal kantongi 1% total dividen BUMN tiap tahun

Danantara Indonesia Trust (DIT), the independent philanthropic arm of Danantara Indonesia, is set to receive substantial initial funding to launch its programs. The foundation will be endowed with $100 million, equivalent to Rp 1.77 trillion, based on an assumed exchange rate of Rp 17,743 per US dollar.

Rosan P Roeslani, a trustee of Danantara Indonesia Trust and CEO of Danantara, announced that the foundation will subsequently receive 1% of the total annual dividends from State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) as its ongoing funding. This commitment ensures sustained financial support for DIT’s initiatives.

“Our policy is to allocate an initial $100 million. Moreover, our plan is to contribute annually at least 1% of the total dividends we receive from all existing State-Owned Enterprises,” Rosan stated during an interview following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Danantara Indonesia Trust in Jakarta on Monday (May 25th).

DIT has recently formalized partnerships through MoUs with three key entities: the Ministry of Health, Karya Salemba Empat, and the Museum and Cultural Heritage entities. These collaborations will drive strategic programs focused on culture, education, and clean water and sanitation.

Rosan emphasized that Danantara Indonesia was established not only to manage state investments but also to actively contribute to social development across Indonesia.

“Through Danantara Indonesia Trust, we are expanding our mission to strengthen human capital and address societal challenges. We believe that creating long-term value must go hand-in-hand with tangible positive impacts for the community,” he explained.

Prabowo’s Son, Didit Hediprasetyo, Involved in DIT Partnership

As previously mentioned, the MoUs signed by DIT involve three significant partnerships. One of these collaborations, focused on Museums and Cultural Heritage, is affiliated with Didit Hediprasetyo, the son of President Prabowo Subianto, highlighting a connection to prominent figures in the cultural development sector.

In more detail, the partnership with the Ministry of Health will concentrate on enhancing maternal and child health. This includes the provision of hexavalent vaccines, strengthening the vaccine cold chain, and distributing multiple micronutrient supplements for pregnant women to combat stunting. These efforts come at a critical time, as Indonesia continues to face significant health challenges. According to 2026 data from WHO and UNICEF, approximately 960,000 children in Indonesia still lack basic immunization, referred to as ‘zero dose’. Furthermore, the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia stands at 189 per 100,000 live births, while the prevalence of wasting, or acute malnutrition, remains at 7.4%.

The collaboration with Karya Salemba Empat will provide three-year scholarships to approximately 500 underprivileged students across various regions of Indonesia. This program will also encompass mentoring, leadership development, and job readiness training. These initiatives are particularly relevant given the persistent challenge of young people not in education, employment, or training (NEET) in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the partnership with Museums and Cultural Heritage aims to develop the Danantara Indonesia Trust Library at the National Museum. This initiative is designed to improve public access to knowledge and promote cultural literacy.

Didit Hediprasetyo was present at the MoU signing and actively participated in finalizing the agreement for the cultural development program. Nuraini Razak, Chairwoman of the Danantara Indonesia Trust Foundation, stated that each program was carefully selected to address pressing developmental needs, ranging from maternal and child health to educational access and cultural literacy.

“Through these collaborations, these programs will serve as the foundation for DIT, acting as a platform to mobilize collective action, foster large-scale solutions, and deliver tangible impacts throughout Indonesia,” Nuraini remarked. Looking ahead, Danantara Indonesia Trust plans to expand its catalytic programs, strengthen partnerships with global institutions, and open avenues for co-funding to amplify the social impact of its initiatives.

Danantara Indonesia Trust was established in October 2025 as Danantara’s philanthropic unit. Its mandate is to allocate a portion of State-Owned Enterprise dividends towards strategic social programs and the development of Indonesia’s human capital.
