DAIRI – The Dairi Regency Government, in collaboration with the Bank Indonesia (BI) North Sumatra Representative Office, has officially launched a cashless tax payment program utilizing the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS). Known as the Pajak Berkah QRIS 2026 program, this initiative aims to bolster digital financial literacy among the public while accelerating the digitalization of local government transactions.
Robot Simanullang, Head of the Dairi Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), stated that the department has begun educating taxpayers on the digital payment system. This transition includes Land and Building Taxes (PBB), which can now be settled seamlessly using QRIS.
“During this initial phase, we are conducting socialization efforts for approximately 150 taxpayers. Our officers are also on-site to guide the public through the process of paying their property taxes via QRIS,” Robot explained on Monday, May 18, 2026.
To encourage adoption and reward early users, taxpayers who utilize the QRIS payment method are eligible to receive exclusive souvenirs provided by the Bank Indonesia North Sumatra Representative Office. Beyond the incentives, the shift toward digital payments is expected to enhance transparency and efficiency in managing local government finances.
“This program is a key component of our strategy to improve digital financial literacy and encourage the widespread adoption of electronic transactions within the local government,” Robot added.
The Pajak Berkah QRIS 2026 campaign is scheduled to run from May 18 to May 29, 2026. The Dairi Regency Government is encouraging all residents to leverage this convenient payment method, emphasizing that timely tax compliance directly supports the region’s ongoing development.
Robot further urged all taxpayers to embrace the digital payment system, highlighting it as a vital step in supporting Dairi’s progress in the era of digital transformation. The initiative has been well-received by taxpayers, many of whom noted that the digital system is significantly more practical, faster, and well-aligned with modern technological standards.
