During a press conference following the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) meeting on Monday, November 3, 2025, Minister Purbaya presented his full-year economic growth projection for 2025 at 5.2% year-on-year (YoY). This projection aligns perfectly with the government’s official targets, underscoring a unified economic vision.
Elaborating on his outlook at the BI office in Jakarta, Purbaya stated, “My year-end projection is quite consistent with that of the BI Governor. However, my personal wager is that for the fourth quarter of 2025, we can expect economic growth to surpass 5.5%.”
This optimistic forecast, he explained, is significantly bolstered by a substantial injection of Rp200 trillion in economic liquidity from the government’s coffers. Furthermore, a comprehensive economic stimulus package slated for the fourth quarter of 2025 is expected to provide considerable impetus. This package includes vital initiatives such as internship programs, income tax exemptions for employees in various sectors, and crucial direct cash assistance (BLT) programs.
“We should certainly be able to achieve above 5.5%. For me, this is crucial because of the quality of growth at 5.5%; the President has reportedly indicated a reward for reaching that,” Purbaya added, highlighting the government’s commitment to high-quality economic expansion.
Concurring with the positive sentiment, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo detailed the central bank’s own projections. He anticipates that Indonesia’s economic growth in the third and fourth quarters of 2025 will exceed the 5.12% YoY recorded in the second quarter of the same year.
According to Governor Perry, the sustained economic momentum towards the end of 2025 will primarily be driven by robust export performance. This will be complemented by a range of coordinated fiscal and monetary policies designed to accelerate the financing of the government’s priority projects.
The seasoned BI Governor, now in his second term, articulated the central bank’s overall economic growth range for 2025. He projects that growth will comfortably sit above the midpoint of 4.7% to 5.5%.
“Bank Indonesia’s range for overall economic growth in 2025 is between 4.7% and 5.5%. We anticipate it will be slightly higher, exceeding the midpoint of that range. So, you can make your own calculations based on that,” Perry concluded during the same event, offering a clear and confident assessment of Indonesia’s economic trajectory.
