During the Christmas and New Year holidays in Jakarta, crowds of more than 5 people are prohibited – Crowds of more than five people during the Christmas and New Year holiday period from 18 December 2020 to 8 January 2021 can be subject to sanctions by the Satpol PP.

This was stated in the Instruction of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 64 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Controlling Community Activities in the Prevention of Covid-19 during the 2020 Christmas and 2021 New Year Holidays.

Point 17c in the DKI Jakarta Governor's Instruction requests the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit to implement the health protocol and prevent crowds of more than five people.

"Establishing health protocols in public areas and other places that can generate crowds of people with provisions for limiting activities/activities to a maximum of 5 (people) during the 2020 Christmas and 2021 New Year holidays," the Governor's Instruction reads.

The authority to enforce the health protocol with the number of crowds was previously stated in DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 41 of 2020 Article 11 paragraph 1 which reads:

"Anyone who violates the prohibition on carrying out activities with a total of more than 5 (five) people in public places or facilities during the implementation of the PSBB will be subject to sanctions:

a. administrative written warning;

b. social services in the form of cleaning public facilities by wearing vests; or

c. an administrative fine of at least IDR 100,000.00 (one hundred thousand) and a maximum of IDR 250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand rupiah)” As for paragraph 2 of the same article, the sanctions referred to in paragraph 1 are carried out by the Civil Service Police Unit and can be accompanied by the police.
