President Prabowo Subianto recently shared a heartwarming moment on his official Instagram account, @presidenrepublikindonesia, capturing himself reading a handwritten thank-you letter from a primary school student while traveling by plane. The letter was sent by 11-year-old Alkhalifi Muhammad Marfen, a fifth-grade student at MI Darussalam Sidoarjo, who expressed his gratitude for the government’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
In a video posted on Saturday night (16/5), the President is seen seated in his aircraft cabin, carefully reading the message from Marfen. The caption of the post described the interaction as a “small letter containing an expression of gratitude for the presence of Free Nutritious Meals,” highlighting the direct impact of the initiative on the nation’s youth.
The video showcases the handwritten letter in detail. In his message, Marfen introduced himself with his full school and home addresses before sharing his appreciation. “Thank you, Mr. President, for the free nutritious meals. I am happy to receive them because the food is nutritious,” the student wrote, acknowledging how much he enjoys the program.
Beyond his thanks, the young student also shared a personal dream with the President. Marfen expressed a deep desire to meet Prabowo Subianto in person and attend the August 17th Independence Day ceremony at the State Palace. He noted that, until now, he has only been able to witness the prestigious national event through television broadcasts.
The official Instagram account further emphasized that the Free Nutritious Meal program is a strategic investment in the future of Indonesia. By providing healthy food to students like Marfen, the government aims to ensure that the next generation grows up healthy and strong, serving as a vital foundation for the country’s long-term development.
