The 269th Anniversary of Pura Mangkunegaran in Solo, officially known as Adeging Mangkunegaran, is set to captivate visitors from today through May 3, 2026. This vibrant celebration harmonizes cultural heritage, culinary delights, and sports, underscoring Mangkunegaran’s dedication to remaining a premier center of culture with both national and global influence.
In collaboration with Katadata and the DNC Foundation, and with Bank Permata returning as a strategic partner, the event is more than a milestone. It serves as a tribute to the rich history of the Pura Mangkunegaran, which was established in 1747. Following the success of previous years in 2023, 2024, and 2025—each drawing over 40,000 participants—this year’s festivities promise to be even more engaging for locals and tourists alike at the historic Pamedan Mangkunegaran.
Located within the official palace of the Adipati Mangkunegaran in Surakarta, Central Java, the venue provides a majestic backdrop for the celebration. The festivities are headlined by three main pillars:
Mangkunegaran Makan-Makan
This culinary festival transforms the grounds into a food lover’s paradise, featuring over 80 stalls offering traditional local dishes and unique products. Running from May 1 to May 3, 2026, the event is free to the public and encourages an authentic dining experience where guests are invited to sit on the floor (lesehan) and enjoy their meals on banana leaf platters using eco-friendly utensils.
Visitors can indulge in royal-inspired dishes and legendary delicacies. Highlights include traditional abdi dalem cuisine such as tahu petis keprabon, trimo manyar, and jenang Bu Nik, alongside iconic local favorites like the Getuk Trio (established in 1958) and the renowned Warung Rawon Penjara (established in the 1970s). A diverse selection of other treats, including siomay Manahan, iga bakar Mangkubumi, pentol Penmo, and teh tarik Merdoe, will also be available.
Royal Dinner Mangkunegaran
On Saturday, May 2, the prestigious Royal Heritage Dinner will host approximately 150 invited guests. Held at the Pendhapa Pura Mangkunegaran, this multisensory banquet is designed to engage all five senses—taste, aroma, touch, sight, and sound—creating an unforgettable experience for distinguished guests, the Mangkunegaran royal family, and strategic partners.
Mangkunegaran Run
The celebration concludes on Sunday, May 3, with the highly anticipated Mangkunegaran Run. With 7,700 runners participating across 5K, 10K, and half marathon categories, this event is a fusion of athletic achievement and social community spirit.
Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Mangkunegaran X, known as Gusti Bhre, highlighted that the route has officially received certification from the World Athletics body. The process was verified by representative Kim Vivan, who visited Solo to ensure the course meets international standards. “This certification ensures accurate distance, a safe surface to minimize injury, and international recognition, which is vital for validating world records and official athlete times,” Gusti Bhre explained.
The race will begin at Manahan Stadium in Solo and finish at Pura Mangkunegaran. The starting area opens at 03:00 WIB, with staggered flag-offs: the 21K category begins at 04:45 WIB, followed by the 10K at 05:00 WIB, and the 5K at 05:25 WIB. Through this event, Mangkunegaran continues its mission of creating inclusive experiences that bridge the gap between historical heritage and modern community engagement.
