Rancak Media – The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) under the Ministry of Finance has officially extended the deadline for filing the Annual Corporate Income Tax Return (SPT PPh Badan). Taxpayers now have until May 31, 2026, to submit their filings, a shift from the previous deadline of Thursday, April 30, 2026.
Director General of Taxes, Bimo Wijayanto, confirmed that this decision follows direct guidance from Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. Bimo announced the change at the Central Jakarta Medium Tax Office (KPP) on Thursday, noting that the agency is currently finalizing the official regulatory release to formalize the extension.

It is important to note that this extension is exclusive to corporate taxpayers. Bimo clarified that the deadline for individual taxpayers remains strictly set for April 30, 2026, with no adjustments planned for that group.
The decision to grant the extension for corporations was driven by a significant surge in demand for administrative relief. The tax office reported receiving approximately 4,000 formal requests for an extension from corporate taxpayers, as well as various appeals from the general public and professional associations.
“We decided to provide this relaxation today, considering the high volume of requests we received from corporate taxpayers, the public, and industry associations,” Bimo explained. While the filing deadline extension is confirmed, the tax office is still reviewing potential relaxation measures regarding payment deadlines, ensuring they align with legal requirements and current revenue performance.
Addressing concerns regarding the current state of tax infrastructure, Bimo openly acknowledged that the tax administration system is not yet perfect. However, he emphasized that the agency is committed to providing comprehensive support to taxpayers during this busy period. This commitment includes maintaining full service hours through the weekends—including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—and proactively assisting major corporations directly.
“We recognize that our core tax administration system is still undergoing improvements, but our team is dedicated to providing total service,” said Bimo. “Staff across all tax offices and regional offices nationwide are working tirelessly. Even during Work From Home days, we have maintained 50 percent service capacity, and our teams are actively reaching out to provide direct assistance to corporations in need across Indonesia.”
