Enam polisi tersangka kasus di Kalibata akan disidang etik, pelanggaran berat

Six police officers, implicated in the fatal assault of two individuals believed to be debt collectors in Kalibata, South Jakarta, are facing severe repercussions for what has been deemed a grave violation. These officers are slated to appear before the Police Code of Ethics Commission for an internal trial. The classification of “serious violation” was determined following a thorough case review conducted by the Police Professional and Security Division (Divpropam Polri).

All six suspects are identified as members of the Public Service Unit of the National Police Headquarters (Yanma Mabes Polri). Their initials have been released as Brigadir IAM, Bripda JLA, Bripda RGW, Bripda IAB, Bripda BN, and Bripda AM. Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, Head of the Public Information Bureau for the National Police’s Public Relations Division, confirmed that the force is pursuing both criminal charges and internal disciplinary actions under the Police Professional Code of Ethics against the implicated personnel.

The ethical trial is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17. Trunoyudo underscored the police’s commitment to accountability, stating in a written release from Jakarta on Saturday (13/12), “Every member involved will be held responsible for their actions, both criminally and ethically.” He further elaborated that the officers’ conduct constituted a serious violation, as outlined in Indonesian National Police Regulation (Perpol) Number 7 Year 2022.

Trunoyudo assured the public that the investigation into the Kalibata assault is being conducted with utmost professionalism and transparency, emphasizing that no favoritism will be shown, despite the suspects being members of the Polri. The police are actively coordinating with the victims’ families, property owners affected by the incident, local government officials, and community leaders. This collaborative effort aims to maintain public order, ensure a peaceful recovery process, and prevent any further escalations.

He reiterated, “We continue to maintain security around the crime scene to prevent follow-up actions and ensure public safety.” Previously, Trunoyudo had confirmed that the six officers face charges under Article 170 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code, which pertains to collective violence in public resulting in death. “The investigation process remains ongoing. We are steadfast in our commitment to thoroughly investigate criminal cases, holding all perpetrators accountable without discrimination,” Trunoyudo stated, reinforcing the Polri’s dedication to transparent, professional, and proportional law enforcement, ensuring every party is held responsible according to prevailing regulations.

Two Fatalities Following Kalibata Assault

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has officially confirmed that two individuals succumbed to injuries sustained during an assault in the Kalibata area of South Jakarta on Thursday night, December 11. Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, verified on Friday (12/12), “It is true that the second victim passed away last night at Bhudi Asih Hospital.” Despite this confirmation, authorities are still actively investigating the identities of the deceased victims and whether they were indeed debt collectors, commonly referred to as ‘mata elang’ or ‘matel’. Budi noted, “This is still being investigated due to limited witnesses. Initial information suggests so.”

Kalibata Assailants Used No Weapons

In a crucial detail regarding the fatal assault and property damage in Kalibata, police have confirmed that the perpetrators did not use any weapons; the violence was inflicted with bare hands.
