Uki, a farmer hailing from Dampyak Hamlet, Balai Kambang Village, Jonggol District, Bogor Regency, shared his profound satisfaction regarding the decrease in fertilizer prices. The policy, a clear demonstration of the government’s commitment to agriculture, is formally outlined in the Minister of Agriculture’s Decree Number 1117/Kpts./SR.310/M/10/2025, issued on October 22, 2025.
“Farmers are absolutely delighted,” Uki stated while redeeming fertilizer at a kiosk in Jonggol, Bogor, on Tuesday (25/11). He highlighted the dual benefit, adding, “Especially now that the Highest Retail Price (HET) for rice is already favorable. We earnestly request Mr. President not to raise fertilizer prices again; in fact, if possible, increase the supply.” This sentiment underscores the critical role of affordable and accessible agricultural inputs for farmer prosperity.
In a related supportive measure, the government has also established the Government Purchase Price (HPP) for Dry Harvested Paddy (GKP) at Rp 6,500 per kilogram. This comprehensive policy extends its benefits not only to the state-owned logistics agency Perum Bulog but also to all private rice milling businesses, ensuring a stable and fair price for farmers’ harvests across the board.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God), this is incredibly helpful,” Uki remarked, expressing his gratitude to President Prabowo. He elaborated on the tangible impact: “I thank Mr. President Prabowo because fertilizer prices have been lowered. Previously, fertilizer prices and rice prices were almost at par. Now, with fertilizer being 20 percent cheaper and rice prices remaining high, farmers gain a significant surplus.” This advantageous balance provides much-needed financial relief and motivation for the farming community.
Beyond the cost reduction, Uki also noted a substantial improvement in the availability of subsidized fertilizer. Farmers no longer face the anxiety of shortages, provided they are registered in the Definitive Group Needs Plan (RDKK). “Redemption is incredibly easy now. There’s plenty of fertilizer, unlike before,” Uki reiterated, emphasizing the positive change. “Now, you just need to bring your KTP, and all the details are listed, as long as you’re registered in Simluhtan (Agricultural Extension Information Management System).” This simplified access is a key factor in boosting farmer confidence and productivity.
Koyum, the owner of Berkah Tani fertilizer kiosk in Jonggol, Bogor, corroborated the positive effects of the policy. He confirmed that the reduction in fertilizer prices has directly led to a notable increase in farmers’ redemption of subsidized fertilizer. As a testament to this surge in demand, Koyum reported that 70 percent of his kiosk’s total stock has already been absorbed by farmers.
Remarkably, Koyum pointed out that this impressive absorption rate has been achieved even before the year’s end. He compared this to previous years, stating, “Before fertilizer prices dropped, our stock would typically only be 80 percent sold out by the full allocation period.” This comparison clearly illustrates the enhanced purchasing power and demand among farmers following the price reduction.
Echoing the sentiments of the farmers, Koyum also extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Prabowo for initiating this impactful fertilizer price reduction policy.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God) for Mr. Prabowo lowering the prices,” he expressed. “Farmers are very happy, and as a vendor, I am also extremely pleased. Thank you, Mr. President.
