The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu’ti, has unveiled a series of concerning violations committed by students during the execution of the 2025 Academic Competency Test (TKA). These infractions threaten the integrity of the crucial assessment.
Minister Mu’ti highlighted a range of irregularities, including the use of personal gadgets and even live streaming during the TKA. He elaborated on these findings during a working meeting with Commission X of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, November 26. “The implementation of this year’s TKA was not without its share of violations, perpetrated by both test participants and supervisors or technicians,” Mu’ti stated in his presentation, emphasizing the dual responsibility.
Mu’ti further revealed that attempts to leak TKA questions via WhatsApp groups constituted the most prevalent form of violation, with a staggering 28 reported cases. This widespread misconduct was observed during the initial test period of November 3-6, 2025. Other significant breaches included attempts to leak questions through TikTok, accounting for 11 cases, live streaming during the test (8 cases), efforts to leak questions to X (formerly Twitter) accounts (5 cases), and the unauthorized use of gadgets during the TKA (4 cases). It was explicitly noted that all these specific violations were carried out by the test takers themselves.
In response to these findings, Minister Mu’ti affirmed the ministry’s unwavering commitment to upholding the fairness and security of the examination process. “We will take firm action against every form of violation, no matter how minor, to safeguard the integrity and equity in the implementation of the TKA,” he declared, sending a strong message to potential offenders.
The insights garnered from this monitoring and evaluation exercise will serve as a vital foundation for refining the execution of the Academic Competency Test in the coming year. The 2025 TKA for Senior High Schools (SMA), Vocational High Schools (SMK), Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah), and Vocational Islamic Senior High Schools (Madrasah Aliyah Kejuruan) was conducted in two waves from November 3-6, 2025. Additionally, tests for Package C (equivalent to high school diplomas) and Ulya-level Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School Equivalence Education were administered in a third wave on November 8-9, 2025.
