Revision of December 2020 Joint Leave Based on Presidential Decree 23/2020 – December 2020 joint leave corrected by President Joko Widodo. Holidays and joint leave in December 2020 were reduced due to the consideration of maintaining and controlling the high spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia.
The results of the December 2020 joint leave correction were signed by President Joko Widodo on December 8, 2020 in the form of Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 23 of 2020 concerning the Reshuffle of Presidential Decree Number 17 of 2020 concerning Joint Leave for State Civil Apparatus Employees in 2020.
"Technically there is a reduction in holidays and joint leave for about 3 days, namely the 28th, 29th and 30th (December). 28, 29, 30 (December) are not on holiday but still go to work as usual," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy in his press release, in Jakarta, Tuesday (1/12/2020).

Initially, based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, and Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatuses and Bureaucratic Reform (MenpanRB) Number 440/2020, 03/2020, 03/2020 December 28-30 it was decided as an alternative to joint holiday for Hari Raya Eid al-Fitr 1441 Hijri.
Muhadjir said, Christmas and New Year holidays are still available, added with 1 alternative day of leave with Eid Al-Fitr. The Christmas holidays run December 24-27.
"The 24th (December) is the Christmas (shared) holiday, then the 25th is the Christmas, then the 26th is automatically (holiday) because it's Saturday and the 27th is Sunday," he said.
Meanwhile, December 31 is joint leave as an Alternative to Joint Leave for Idul Fitri 1441 Hijriah.
"The 1st (January) is an automatic holiday because January 1st. Then the 2nd (January) is Saturday (and) January 3rd is Sunday until it's automatically a holiday," said the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
Furthermore, Muhadjir conveyed that the agreement to reduce joint holidays and leave was set forth in the SKB of three ministers, namely the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, the Minister of Manpower and the Minister of Religion.
"The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform because later it will be related to ASN (State Civil Apparatus) leave and vacation issues, then the Minister of Manpower is related to employee and private employees' leave and holidays, then the Minister of Religion because this is related to religious day holidays," he explained.
This decision, he explained, would be put into effect after being signed by the 3 ministers. The results of the December 2020 joint leave correction are as follows:
- December 24 2O2O (Thursday) as a joint holiday for Christmas.
- 31 December 2O2O (Thursday) as an alternative to joint leave for Idul Fitri l44l Hijriah.
